Its Been a long Time and everything Changes...

Havent Blogged for a while, but thinking back over the last couple of months absoloutely LOADS has happened, both at Home, at Work and at the Cathedral.

At Home, Rebecca has become an Official Lady of Leisure, not of her own doing , but lets hope she will find further work/ voluntary projects that can use her skills.

Pip has more productions under her belt, and has moved upto year 10 and picked her Options.

My work is ever changing and evolving...suprising me and my colleagues weekly !
And at the Cathedral I have just finished my 2 1/2 month stint running the sunday club at the Cathedral, during which time we have said Goodbye to A Super Dean, Adrian, who is off to Be Bishop of Stepney, a very exciting challenge working in an area integral to the 2012 Olympics.

So there you go, they are the major events in my life for the last couple of months , now sit down and have a little think about all the things that have changed in your life and how your plans changed constantly !

ANd then how you you have managed with a little help.

Prayers For Lent

Lebt is upon us again and last year I made more time to think of others and pray for them, people I know, those I don't and those in need who we should pray for to give them strength.

This Year I'm still doing that ( but I'm also giving up Chocolate and Biscuits.)

Well, the C of E Website has come up with an excellent Prayer website this year which is called Say one for me......where anyone can post a prayer and browse those that have been left to Pray on others behalf.

Bible

Today I bought a new Bible....

Well It's second hand.

But it's a neat size and fits the bill.

It's a Sunrise Good News Bible.

I do worry that I prefer a version that I find easy to read and which isn't full of old fashioned language.....Being as its the 400th Anniversary of the King James Version.

But I think that doesn't matter

:-)

Chennai India....a True Experience

I've not posted in a while, but thought it about time to, having just returned from Chennai, visiting St Georges Cathedral there, and a number if other deserving projects that both Rochester Cathedral and other local charities may be involved with in the future.

It was a really great trip and a real eye opener....I shall always remember the warm welcome from our link Cathedral and the many people we met whilst there.

My Year at the Cathedral.

Whilst I sit here taking a 5 minute break on Boxing Day Evening, I sit thinking about the hustle and bustle of the last months.....

When I was in the Cathedral I thought about all that has happened recently that I have been involved in, all the fun things that Sunday Club got up to,Filming Annie's Wedding, Rebecca being Confirmed and Pip Being Baptised, both great days, Installing a new Sound Desk, CCTV cameras and woodwork ( twice !) into the Cathedral, the way that Planning the Big Screen Coverage of Bishop James' Enthronement took over my life for 2 1/2 months, the Showing of the Alternative Nativity to the Public at the Crib Service on Christmas Eve, slightly unsure of the response we would get ( It was all positive !) and many other great times I have had there.
There have been quiet times too, times when I have nipped in quickly to have 5 minutes of quiet lr see what goes on, to light a candle and reflect on what being part of the cathedral community means to me.

I think it means all things and everything and I am grateful for that !
