Public Showing of the Frogensian Christmas Tale !

It was a great success showing the film to Parents and other members of the Cathedral this weekend, Thanks to Sugina and Phil for organising, Simply Italian for the Pizzas, Andrew for help with playback and of course to all the kids and their families and friends who came along to support it. A total of £400 was raised for the Chennai Community Project and a great time was had by all. And do you know what ? It was a truly all age affair.
Thanks Everyone !

High Speed.............zoooooom !

Did an OB in Manchester on Tuesday, travlled up on a Virgin Train from Euston on Monda lunchtime, then back again on TUesday Afternoon.
Having only really used commuter services into London for the last few years, I was amazed at the speed of the trains nowadays. Here's my Timetable :-)

Manchester Picadilly dep : 14:40

London Euston arr: 16:45

London St Pancras dep: 16:58

Rainham Kent arr: 17:45

Pretty good eh ?

THe new high speed South Eastern service ( the olympic trains) go from St Pancras to Stratford in 8 mins, and fro St Pancras to Ebbsfleet in 20 mins.

New Telly.....Old Tellies !

Finally bought an LCD HD TV this week, Confused the guys at Comet by taking a Broadcast Camera into the store and asking if they would mind me trudging round the sets I liked the look of, then Plugging it in and setting up the pictures on Bars, and finally standing back and critically looking at what I knew to be a decent image. I took five attempts to find one I liked, and funnily enough not one I would have chosen, a 37 Inch LG !

So onto the old Tellies, We had Justin Bieber on the show yesterday and Erron the Director had an idea for an Unplugged look for the performance.....So it was off to the 4th floor on a scavenger hunt, as I amassed a pile of old Broadcast CRT Monitors of Various sizes to pile up around him.

It seems everyone was very happy with the Music and the look, Funny to think that that mottley collection of monitors, in their day were the top of the pile at many thousands of pounds and now just at the bottom of a heap awaiting scrapping , whilst the young Justin Bieber is at the Bottom of the pile about to embark on a meteoric rise :-)

The First Taize of 2010

I had a very peaceful, meaningful and spiritual sunday evening this week.
Having had a busy Sunday I decided to make time for Taize again and I was glad I did.
In the Darkness Jo the Verger had set all the candles around the crib in the Cathedral Nave, Scott was at the Grand Piano, and with us all concentrating on that iconic scene, encouraged in our reflections by Canon Phil to consider the Vulnerability of God, Jesus and us all, I think we had a very positive and different Taize .

It set me up for the week !
